I rented an Airbnb because the view was spectacular.
When I arrived, the view was obstructed by construction.
The owner told part of the story, not the entire story.
She lied by omission. She wasn’t being honest.
Why am I talking about this?
When selling, you can choose to tell part of the story or the entire story.
Here’s what part of the story sounds like:
“Here’s why our product is right for you.”
Here’s what the entire story sounds like:
“We’re not a fit for everyone. Here are the benefits, and here are the drawbacks.”
Integrity is at the heart of selling.
When you’re dishonest some of the time, you’re not honest all the time.
Part of the story or the entire story?
