How to elegantly explain what you do without boring people.
Here’s the 3 step “What do you do?” storytelling framework:
1. You know when ______ [The problem]?
2. With A [Your solution}, you do B [Action}, and C happens [Desired Outcome].
3. Is that something you’d like to learn more about later this week?
Example for Uber
“You know when you need to be somewhere but can’t catch a cab because it’s rush hour, raining or snowing? With Uber, you press a button, and in 15 minutes, a Mercedes takes you to where you want to go without taking out your wallet. Is that something you’d like to learn more about later this week?”
Example for a washing machine:
“You know how you need to beat your clothes over rocks for several hours to clean them? With a washing machine, you put your clothes in a magic box, and 30 minutes later, they come out clean. Is that something you’d like to learn more about later this week?”
Example for Phone Ready Leads:
“You know how you make 50 calls and only have 2 live conversations even with direct dials? With Phone Ready Leads, you have 8-12 conversations and book 1-2 meetings per 50 dials without adding new tech. Is that something you’d like to learn more about later this week?”
You can’t get better at something you haven’t been taught or practiced.
You’ve been taught.

What do you do?
