Sloppy Speak

A big problem I hear on cold calls is sloppy speak.

Sloppy speak is when your words blend into each other because you’re rushing.

You’re excited your prospect picked up so you speak fast.

Sloppy speak hurts your message because it confuses people.

When you rush, you jump to the next word too quickly. You leave a negative impression because you sound “salesy.”

To sound more professional and coherent, take your time.

Complete each word before saying the next word.

Imagine each word you say has a comma after it.

Pasue for two beats after the other person is done talking.

Downshift from fifth gear into first when speaking.
